Experience the tranquility of Kecil Cottage – a heritage retreat on a picturesque working farm 1.5km outside the town of MacGregor.
From the moment you pass through the gates of the estate, you’ll know you’ve arrived somewhere special. The gravel road winds through a row of olive trees and grapevines, offering a glimpse into the scale of this breathtaking 458-hectare farm. The farm road is accessible to most vehicles but sport cars or drivers with vehicles with very low clearance need to be cautious, especially on the first ramp/bridge.
Spanning 34 hectares of cultivated farmland, Sempurna Estate produces a bounty of grapes, peaches, apricots, and olives. Depending on the season, you might be welcomed with freshly harvested farm produce or homemade jams, bursting with flavour.
A true walk down memory lane, the original farm house, now Kecil Cottage is a beautifully preserved Cape Provincial Heritage Home. By law, its historic charm must remain untouched, and while the lounge is adorned with period furniture, the kitchen and bedrooms are thoughtfully updated with modern comforts to ensure a cozy and convenient stay.
The spacious main bedroom features a plush king-size bed and the bathroom has underfloor heating for chilly Klein Karoo nights. Across from the main cottage and the enclosed courtyard, is the second bedroom. It has two single beds, and is perfect for older children or additional guests. The open-plan lounge, dining, and kitchen area is inviting and airy, with a small sleeper couch ideal for two small children or a teenager.
Please note there is a surcharge of R125 per night to make up the sleeper couch for an extra person or young kiddies. When requesting to book, please confirm if you will be using the sleeper couch.
Step outside into your private courtyard, a charming oasis where a built-in outdoor braai (barbecue) and a four-seater dining table invite you to linger over meals under the open sky.
For those drawn to adventure, the Klein Karoo landscape calls. Wander up the hillside to a quiet bench with panoramic views over McGregor and the sprawling valley beyond. Explore the farm’s 11-kilometer hiking trail, immersing yourself in the unique beauty of the Renosterveld ecosystem.
For a true bush experience, meander up another hill to discover the secluded bush boma—a magical spot for an evening braai under a starlit sky. Here, the only sounds are the crackling fire and birds settling in for the night.
A short stroll from the cottage leads you to our impressive indoor 25-meter Olympic-style pool, shared with fellow guests and McGregor’s local swimming clubs during the week. Next to the pool, a small fully equipped gym awaits those looking to stay active.
Kecil Cottage is nestled within the beautiful ‘werf’ gardens. Here the pace slows, the early morning air is crisp, and the beauty of the Klein Karoo wraps around you like an old friend. Whether you’re here for adventure, relaxation, or a taste of farm life, this is a place where memories are made.
1. A 50% deposit of the Rental is payable upon reservation of the Property and the balance is payable 2 days prior to arrival into the Bank Account.
2. Payment of the Deposit, shall be deemed to
be acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and secures the reservation.
3. Upon arrival at the Property, the Guest and his Invitees are requested to take careful
note of the Special Instructions. The Guest is at all times during the Rental Period responsible for his Invitees and shall ensure that the Property is used with due consideration, care and respect and in compliance with any rules and/or guidelines as set out in the Special Instructions.
4. The maximum occupancy of each house is the specified number of guests at all times.
5. Any loss or damage to the Owner’s inverter, linen, fixtures, fittings, equipment or movables shall be determined solely by BMG and shall be paid for by the Guest on
demand. Upon departure please notify BMG of any such losses or breakages failing which, BMG shall determine same and the Guest will be liable for such losses.
6. The Guest and his invitees shall occupy
and/or visit the Property at their own risk. The Owner and/or BMG shall not be held liable for personal injury or death of the Guest including his Invitees or any loss/theft/damages to the property of the Guest or his Invitees that may occur during the Guest’s stay on, or about the Property,
howsoever arising. The Guest hereby indemnifies the Owner and BMG in respect of all claims for personal injury or death to the Guest and/or his Invitees or loss or damage to property belonging to the Guest or his Invitees during the Guest’s stay at the Property.
7. Any swimming pool/wooden hot tub/jacuzzi
situated on the Property, shall be used at the sole risk of the Guest and/or his Invitees who should ensure that children are supervised at all times.
8. The Guest hereby indemnifies and holds the Owners and BMG harmless in the event of any claim arising in respect of clauses 5-7 above.
9. Should the Property, for reasons beyond the control of the Owner and/or BMG and not by any fault of the Guest, be unfit for occupation during the Rental Period then the Guest shall receive a refund limited to the period that the Property could not be occupied and no further compensation shall be paid by the Owner and/or BMG to the Guest as a result thereof.
10. The Owner and BMG reserve the right to
cancel the booking at any time before or during the Rental Period should the Guest and/or his Invitees, in the Owner or BBB’s sole discretion, conduct themselves or treat the Property in an inappropriate manner including causing disturbance to neighbours.
11. The guest hereby undertakes to adhere to
the unspoken rule that the town needs to be quiet after 22:00 at night.
12. The guest confirms to having received and read the Terms and Conditions for staying in an establishment let by BBB Rentals.
13. Should the Guest cancel:
13.1. no less than 60 days prior to the commencement of the Rental Period, BMG will refund the Guest 50% of the Deposit;
13.2. within 60 days of the Rental Period,
the Guest forfeits the Deposit; or
13.3. within 30 days of the Rental Period,
the Guest will pay the full Rental.
Definitions:
“Bank Account” means the bank account, designated by BMG to the Guest into which the payments will be made;
“BMG” means Be in McGregor (Pty) LTD, its employees, agents and contractors, being the Owner’s letting agent in respect of the Property; “Deposit” means the deposit to be paid in terms of clause 1.
“He” means he/she as the case may be;
“Guest” means the individual renting the Property from the Owner for the Rental Period;
“Invitees” means all family members,friends, visitors and invitees of the Guest;
“Owner” means the owner of the Property; “Property” means the property under rental;
“Rental” means the consideration agreed upon and confirmed in writing by BMG;
“Rental Period” means the period that the Guest has agreed to rent the Premises; and
“Terms and Conditions” means these terms and conditions which are deemed to have been
accepted by the Guest upon payment of the Deposit.
