Tucked away on a picturesque working farm just 1.5km outside town, the Hillside Cottages (A & B) offer a unique blend of tranquility, comfort, and adventure. Whether you’re seeking a romantic escape or a group retreat, these cottages provide the perfect setting.
The two cottages are connected by a long interleading hallway with doors on either end, allowing you to book them separately for total privacy or together for a seamless group stay. Each cottage boasts its own private balcony, where you can soak in breathtaking farm views in complete seclusion.
As you make your way to the cottages, the landscape unfolds before you—rows of olive trees, vineyards, peach and apricot orchards, and fields stretching into the distance.
Your arrival is just as welcoming, with parking nestled under a canopy of grapevines, where you’ll be greeted and introduced to the shared pool and fully-equipped gym.
Perched on an elevated part of the farm, the Hillside Cottages offer unparalleled views of the rolling vineyards, sun-drenched fields, and the vast Karoo veld. Please note, the farm road leading to the cottages is a bit rugged and best suited for vehicles with higher clearance.
Step through the door and into a spacious, open-plan haven that combines rustic charm with modern comfort. A sleek, fully equipped kitchen, an old-fashioned farm-style dining table, and a cozy lounge area invite you to unwind. The large windows and sliding doors frame sweeping farm views, while the expansive wooden deck—complete with a Weber braai and a dining table for alfresco meals—makes every meal an occasion.
The private queen-sized bedroom offers a peaceful retreat, while the lounge features a double sleeper couch—ideal for a teenager or two small children. The modern bathroom with a shower-over-bath ensures comfort and convenience.
For families, we offer a once-off R250 fee to prepare the sleeper couch with linen for your little ones (please note that the sleeper couch is not suitable for adults).
The farm is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. A short walk from your cottage, a scenic trail leads to a hilltop bench with breathtaking views over McGregor and the surrounding landscape. For the more adventurous, an 11km hiking trail winds through the stunning Renosterveld terrain.
For a truly magical experience, follow a secluded path to the bush boma, where you can enjoy an evening braai under a star-filled sky, with nothing but the crackling fire and night sounds to keep you company.
A short 300m walk or drive takes you to the historic ‘werf’ area, where you can park under a canopy of purple table grapes. If you visit during harvest season, feel free to pluck a few sun-ripened grapes straight from the vine. Nearby, you’ll find the indoor Olympic-sized (25m) swimming pool and a fully equipped gym, shared with fellow guests and local McGregor swimming groups on some weekdays.

1. A 50% deposit of the Rental is payable upon reservation of the Property and the balance is payable 2 days prior to arrival into the Bank Account.
2. Payment of the Deposit, shall be deemed to
be acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and secures the reservation.
3. Upon arrival at the Property, the Guest and his Invitees are requested to take careful
note of the Special Instructions. The Guest is at all times during the Rental Period responsible for his Invitees and shall ensure that the Property is used with due consideration, care and respect and in compliance with any rules and/or guidelines as set out in the Special Instructions.
4. The maximum occupancy of each house is the specified number of guests at all times.
5. Any loss or damage to the Owner’s inverter, linen, fixtures, fittings, equipment or movables shall be determined solely by BMG and shall be paid for by the Guest on
demand. Upon departure please notify BMG of any such losses or breakages failing which, BMG shall determine same and the Guest will be liable for such losses.
6. The Guest and his invitees shall occupy
and/or visit the Property at their own risk. The Owner and/or BMG shall not be held liable for personal injury or death of the Guest including his Invitees or any loss/theft/damages to the property of the Guest or his Invitees that may occur during the Guest’s stay on, or about the Property,
howsoever arising. The Guest hereby indemnifies the Owner and BMG in respect of all claims for personal injury or death to the Guest and/or his Invitees or loss or damage to property belonging to the Guest or his Invitees during the Guest’s stay at the Property.
7. Any swimming pool/wooden hot tub/jacuzzi
situated on the Property, shall be used at the sole risk of the Guest and/or his Invitees who should ensure that children are supervised at all times.
8. The Guest hereby indemnifies and holds the Owners and BMG harmless in the event of any claim arising in respect of clauses 5-7 above.
9. Should the Property, for reasons beyond the control of the Owner and/or BMG and not by any fault of the Guest, be unfit for occupation during the Rental Period then the Guest shall receive a refund limited to the period that the Property could not be occupied and no further compensation shall be paid by the Owner and/or BMG to the Guest as a result thereof.
10. The Owner and BMG reserve the right to
cancel the booking at any time before or during the Rental Period should the Guest and/or his Invitees, in the Owner or BBB’s sole discretion, conduct themselves or treat the Property in an inappropriate manner including causing disturbance to neighbours.
11. The guest hereby undertakes to adhere to
the unspoken rule that the town needs to be quiet after 22:00 at night.
12. The guest confirms to having received and read the Terms and Conditions for staying in an establishment let by BBB Rentals.
13. Should the Guest cancel:
13.1. no less than 60 days prior to the commencement of the Rental Period, BMG will refund the Guest 50% of the Deposit;
13.2. within 60 days of the Rental Period,
the Guest forfeits the Deposit; or
13.3. within 30 days of the Rental Period,
the Guest will pay the full Rental.
Definitions:
“Bank Account” means the bank account, designated by BMG to the Guest into which the payments will be made;
“BMG” means Be in McGregor (Pty) LTD, its employees, agents and contractors, being the Owner’s letting agent in respect of the Property; “Deposit” means the deposit to be paid in terms of clause 1.
“He” means he/she as the case may be;
“Guest” means the individual renting the Property from the Owner for the Rental Period;
“Invitees” means all family members,friends, visitors and invitees of the Guest;
“Owner” means the owner of the Property; “Property” means the property under rental;
“Rental” means the consideration agreed upon and confirmed in writing by BMG;
“Rental Period” means the period that the Guest has agreed to rent the Premises; and
“Terms and Conditions” means these terms and conditions which are deemed to have been
accepted by the Guest upon payment of the Deposit.
